Ms. Asmaa Al-Atey is Director of Nursing in Hamad General Hospital. She holds a master’s degree in Executive MBA from HEC of Paris; and earned her bachelor’s degree of Science in Nursing from Qatar University. Her nursing career started as a Staff Nurse in general surgery then worked her way up to the career ladder until she was promoted as Director of Nursing in 2015.

She is working with various media organizations and key government agencies to facilitate nationwide information dissemination about nursing profession, disease prevention and road safety. Ms. Asmaa has presented in numerous national and international conferences and published various researches. In 2019, she has represented Qatari Nurses at the World Health Organization’s Young Nurses Event and led the Nightingale Challenge in Qatar in competition with global nurses. Also established the first regional continuous Trauma Foundation for nurses.

In 2020, during the height of the first wave of the COVID 19 pandemic in Qatar, her leadership played a vital role in the successful management of the Trauma and Emergency Services which facilitated a seamless delivery of high-quality nursing care amidst the challenges presented by the pandemic crisis.

During the biggest event in The State of Qatar FIFA WC2022, the fusion of her patriotic and professional duties did crucial role to ensure a safe and successful global event.
