Dr. Kakil Ibrahim Rasul

Dr. Kakil Ibrahim Rasul is a Senior Consultant in Haem/ Oncology at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research in Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar and an Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine at Weil Cornell Medical College in Qatar.

He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBchB) from the College of Medicine, University of Mosul in 1978. He completed his Certificate of Arab Board for Medical Specialization in Baghdad, Iraq in 1989, MRCP (UK), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon of Glasgow (U.K) in 2000, FRCP Edin (UK) Royal College of Physician, Edinburgh of Glasgow (U.K) in 2004 and has been granted an ESMO Certificate (European Society for Medical Oncology) in 2004 and recertified in 2009.

He leads the Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Multidisciplinary Team and is a core member of the Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary Team, Hamad Medical Corporation. He is also an active member of ESMO and ASCO, a core member of both Colorectal and Hepatobiliary MENA-NCCN guidelines panels tasked to modify and develop guidelines.

At present, he is a member of the editorial board for the World Journal of Oncology Research. He has reviewed a number of journals for  the British Journal of Medicine Research, Saudi Medical Journal, Annals of Saudi Medicine, Qatar Medical Journal and has published around 45 articles in peer reviewed journals within the region and internationally.
