

Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Arafa
Dr. Mohamed Arafa graduated from Cairo University’s medical school in 1996. After he finished his internship in Kasr ALAini Hospital from Cairo University, he joined the Andrology Department as a resident. He then joined the medical staff in the Andrology Department. from 2004 until 2011, he then worked as the Head of Andrology and STDs in Dr. Fakhry and AlRajihi Hospital in AlKhobar.
Dr. Arafa sits on the Middle East Society of Sexual Medicine’s (MESSM) Board of Directors and he is the Chief Editor of the MESSM newsletter. He is also a reviewer for a number of international journals dealing with andrology.
During his profession in andrology, Dr. Arafa has shown great interest in male infertility diagnosis and treatment. He has respectable experience in andrology laboratory procedures, including, routine and advanced semen analysis and sperm cryopreservation. His surgical skills cover all andrology surgeries, including microsurgical procedures (testicular biopsy, varicocelectomy, vasoepididymostomy and vasovasostomy).
Dr Arafa has published over 20 articles in international journals and his research covers all domains of andrology mainly genetics of male infertility, sexual dysfunctions and late-onset hypogonadism. Currently, he is working with the male infertility team in the Urology Section at Hamad General Hospital, Qatar and as an Associate Professor of Andrology and STDs at Cairo University.
