Dr. Hanadi Alhamad

Medical Director, Rumailah Hospital & A/CEO of QRI / Chairperson of Geriatrics and Long Term Care Department 

Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad has worked in Hamad Medical Corporation in various roles over more than 25 years and is currently the Medical Director Rumailah Hospital and the Qatar Rehabilitation Institute. 

Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad is a Board-Certified Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine specialized in Geriatrics. She also completed her M.Sc. degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and was awarded a diploma in Senior Clinical Leaders Program from Harvard University. 

Dr. Al Hamad is the representative for the State of Qatar for WHO Elderly People Care, the Global Dementia Observatory (GDO) Focal Point and Head of WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Ageing and Dementia  In recognition of her vast experience and competences in the field of Geriatric Care, Dr. Hanadi was appointed as the National Health Strategy Lead for Healthy Ageing for the implementation of National Health Strategy 2018-2022, which aims to deliver the ambitious 19 National Health Targets. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor in College of Medicine, Qatar University Medicine and an Assistant Professor in Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar.

 She is also the winner of WHO’s His Highness (HH) Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Prize for Research in Health Care for the Elderly and Health Promotion.
