The Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare is back for 2023

With an unrivalled line-up of international and local experts, the Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare is hosted by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

In 2023 this must attend event will focus on Healthcare Resilience in Extraordinary Times with learning tracks:

This year’s Forum will connect both in-person and virtually, more than 3,000 physicians, nurses, quality leaders, healthcare administrators, hospital executives, patient and family advisors and other allied health professionals.

The 2023 forum will also provide a stimulating and inspiring setting for healthcare professionals to meet, learn and share knowledge with the collective aim to improve the quality and safety of care for the patients and communities we serve.

Improvement Science and capacity and capability building
To apply the concepts, methods and tools of improvement science and develop meaningful and sustainable change that measurably improve health and healthcare during extraordinary time to manage the unexpected and maintain the day to day operations 

Person-Centered Care
To learn about putting  people, patients, staff and care partners at the heart of every decision and partnering with them to improve care 

Flow, Safety and Value Improvement 
To explore means to accelerate a healthcare organization’s ability to support flow, patient safety and value improvement 

Population Health
To understand how to improve the health outcomes of a group of individuals, including the distribution of such outcomes within the group

Leadership, Resilience and Sustainability 
To learn in inspiring and engaging leaders at all levels in a resilient driving and sustainability of results within health and healthcare, especially during extraordinary times 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the forum, the participants will be able to:
  • Identify how flow, safety and value improvement science is applied in health care and what are possible improvement outcomes for populations with diverse needs through partnerships between health systems and communities.

  • Understand that a system is critical to improving a process, and what are methods and tools to achieve this and what is the level of leadership and resilience needed for the sustainable improvement efforts. 

  • Understand that interprofessional ‘joyful’ teams conducting improvement project, including an aim, measures, and iterative tests of change, evolve into reliable, standard work that results into better patient experience and patient safety
