Dr. Muna Al Maslamani
Medical Director, CDC
Dr. Muna Al Maslamani is the Medical Director of Communicable Disease Center. She is a Senior Consultant in Transplant Infectious Diseases and the Assistant Head of Infectious Diseases Division–Medicine Department at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar. Dr. Muna added an Msc-HealthCare Management (RCSI-Bahrain) and IHI Fellowship (Institute of Healthcare Improvement & Hamad Medical Corporation) to her list of educational achievements which includes MBBS, Certification Arab Board Medical Specialization-Internal Medicine, Certification of Complete HMC-Infectious Disease Fellowship Training Program and a Fellow of Infectious Disease Society of America (FIDSA).
In addition from clinical responsibilities, she also holds several administrative and academic positions in and outside HMC, namely Vice Chairperson for Quality and Patient Safety–Medicine, Fellowship Program Director for Infectious Disease, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) and Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases in the Department of Clinical Academic Education, College of Medicine at Qatar University.
Dr. Muna is a great role model who is committed to improving the quality of patient care and takes necessary steps to motivate others in doing the same. She is a Fellow appointed by Planetree International and Person-Centered Care Executive Champion of Communicable Disease Center. Her role as a sponsor for the Clinical Care Improvement Training Program (CCITP) of Quality Division and her involvement in IHI Best Care Always Campaign has produced 55 Quality Improvement Projects till date. She received various Intramural and External research grants and was able to partner with international researchers in conducting clinical research and published 67 publications till date. Several Leadership and Service awards which she received for her achievements are evidence of her passion and commitment towards work and patient care. She is also a regular speaker and moderator at many Infectious Diseases Conferences
