Ms. Reena Philip is a distinguished nursing leader with over a decade of experience in the healthcare industry. She is currently serving as the Director of Nursing Quality Practice and Education, where she oversees the Medical/Surgical/Dialysis portfolio at HMC, Qatar. Her passion for supporting nurse-led initiatives has earned her a reputation as a champion of nursing excellence.
She is the first lady President of Federation of Indian Nurses in Qatar (FINQ), an association affiliated under the Indian Embassy, and is dedicated to the betterment of nursing professionals and community services. She holds a Master's degree in Nursing and is currently pursuing her PhD from the prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. In addition, she has completed a PG Certificate in Higher Teaching and Learning from Birmingham University, UK, and holds a certification for quality and patient safety from NHCA, Singapore. She is also a certified instructor for Basic Life Support at Hamad International Training Center and has achieved her Six-Sigma green belt certification.
Ms. Reena's nursing journey began in critical care nursing and later transitioned to simulation-based education, which has been her forte for the last nine years. Her expertise in designing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality evidence-based nursing programs related to identified clinical gaps and staff needs has been instrumental in improving the quality of nursing education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a pivotal role as one of the nursing leads for the COVID quarantine center and also served as the ICU coordinator. She was one of the lead nursing coordinators for First responder training for FIFA World Cup 2022.
Ms. Reena is actively involved in planning, coordinating, and directing corporate and facility-based nursing education initiatives, Quality improvement projects, JCI surveys, facilitating learning with simulation, consulting, and mentoring others. She is also a researcher, actively engaged in research activities aimed at enhancing overall patient experience. Her passion for nursing education, research, and patient care has made her an invaluable asset to the nursing profession and the healthcare industry.
