HMC CPD Office operates from the Medical Education Building located at the HGH site. Its main functions include:

  • Supporting the organization and conduct of a wide variety of CPD programs and educational activities at HMC
  • Shaping faculty development and GME program(s) for physicians and learners, aligned to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) International LLC accreditation requirements
  • Developing networks and establishing working relationships with esteemed academic institutions and medical centers with the aim to improve CPD programs at HMC, promote quality improvement and patient safety projects and support the professional development of faculty, fellows and residents
  • Helping to develop continuing professional development programs for physicians and other allied health professionals at HMC such as dentists, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, technicians and scientists, and supporting them in organizing educational activities that contribute to the improvement of patient care and system-based practices and performance
  • Collaborating with international accreditation institutions for the educational activities at HMC to obtain CPD accreditation

The CPD Office is run under the directive of Dr Abdullatif Al Khal, Director of Medical Education. The office is supported by the following staff members who assist with CPD events and DHP accreditation.
