You must have an up to date health card in order to use the health care services provided at The Cuban Hospital and all other Hamad Medical Corporation hospitals and clinics. A health card is also required at the Primary Health Care Corporation’s clinics. Health card holders may also have prescriptions filled at government-run pharmacies, at subsidized rates.
At The Cuban Hospital you can renew an expired health card by visiting one of the cashiers’ offices, which are open from 7am to 3pm, Sunday to Thursday and are located near the pharmacy of the Outpatient Department and in the main entrance to the hospital. You will need to bring a passport size photo and your expired card (or know your health card number). The fee is QR50 for Qatari and GCC nationals and QR100 for other residents.
