Admission Process

  • Informed Consent

Your care team, including physicians and nurses, will thoroughly explain and discuss your treatment plans and any proposed procedures with you. If you are scheduled for surgery, a blood transfusion, anesthesia, or any invasive or high-risk procedure, your formal consent will be required. This involves signing a patient consent form once you fully understand the nature, purpose, risks, and benefits of the treatment. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or request clarification before signing.

In the event of a medical emergency where you are unable to provide consent, your treating physician will proceed with necessary care in your best interest, following established ethical and medical guidelines.

  • Admitting Office

Upon arrival at Al Wakra Hospital, please visit the Admitting Office to complete your registration and admission process. For assistance or inquiries, you may contact the office at 4011 4035 or 4011 4036.

If your hospital stay requires payment, the initial charges will be collected at the time of admission. Any additional costs incurred during your stay will be settled upon discharge. For a cost estimate in advance, we encourage you to speak with our financial counselors located at the Cashiers’ Office near the hospital’s main entrance. You may also contact them directly at 4011 4025 for assistance prior to your admission.

  • Escort to Your Room

Following the completion of your admission, a member of our hospital team will kindly accompany you to your assigned inpatient room to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition.

  • Your Inpatient Room

Most rooms at Al Wakra Hospital are thoughtfully designed shared rooms, each accommodating two patients with a shared bathroom. A limited number of private rooms are available based on medical necessity and room availability. Regardless of room type, all accommodations are designed to ensure privacy, comfort, and dignity for patients, families, and visitors. Each room is equipped with:

  • A television with cable access
  • A landline phone for local calls
  • Clean bed linens and towels, provided regularly
  • A call bell system located next to each bed. Please use it to request assistance from our staff at any time

Your care and comfort are our priority. If you have any concerns or questions, please speak with any member of your care team.

Cancellation of Admission

If you are unable to come to the hospital on the day of your scheduled admission, due to illness, an emergency, or any other reason, it is important to notify the hospital as soon as possible. Please contact the Admitting Office at 4011 4035 / 4011 4036 to inform them of your situation.

If your admission, surgery, or procedure is postponed or cancelled by the hospital, you will be notified of the reason and provided with a new appointment to meet your physician to discuss alternative arrangements. This helps ensure continuity of care and minimizes disruption to your treatment plan.
