Dr. Baco is a Senior Consultant Orthopedics and Spine Surgery and Program Director of Spine Fellowship for Hamad General Hospital in Doha Qatar.
Following his basic surgical training in 1987, he obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1997. He went on to complete his trauma fellowship in Germany in 2002. Dr. Baco then finished his higher surgical Orthopaedic and spinal training from St. Mary's Teaching Hospital and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London in 2007. Following this, he was appointed to Lincoln County Hospital in UK as an Orthopaedic and Spinal Consultant.
He moved to Qatar in 2012, to be part of the orthopaedic team in Hamad Medical Corporation as a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon. His main area of specialization is in spinal surgery with general trauma and orthopaedics.
Dr Baco is trained in minimal invasive spinal surgery i.e. Kyphoplasty, Vertebroplasty, interspinus spacer-X-stop and minimal invasive spinal decompression and fusion. He believes in preserving the spinal motion and maintaining the normal biomechanics of the spine. He carries out all the microdiscectomy in the cervical and lumbar regions using a high specification microscope and through the use of key hole surgery.
