Dr. Ayman El-MenyarMBchB, MSc, MRCP, FRCP (Glasgow), FESC, FACC
Director of Clinical Research in Trauma and Vascular Surgery
From June 2011, Dr. El-Menyar has been Director of Clinical Research in Trauma and Vascular Surgery at Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Since 2007, he served as an Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. El-Menyar spent time working in the field of Clinical Cardiology from 1993 to 2011. He also worked as a Director of Clinical Research in surgery at Westchester Medical Center in the United States.
Dr. El-Menyar earned his MBchB from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in 1989. He completed his internship at Cairo University and residency program at the National Heart Institute in Cairo. He then completed his Master degree in Cardiology in May 1995 and earned his Membership for the Royale College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2002, followed by a Diploma of Fellowship from Royal College of Glasgow in 2007.
Dr. El-Menyar has been involved in more than 300 research projects and was awarded the best publication at Hamad Medical Corporation four times. He has authored and co-authored 300 peer reviewed articles, 100 international abstracts and three chapters in books. He is a mentor for medical students, resident and fellows for many research projects. He has been awarded three NPRP grants from Qatar foundation and two internal grants from HMC. He is a member of many international societies and serves on the editorial board of the Cardiology in Review Journal and Case Reports in Vascular Medicine Journal, Peer-Reviewers Committee for Danish Council for Strategic Research, Journal of Emergency, Trauma and Critical Care. He is also a reviewer for international journals and organizations.
