Dr. Ashraf Awadelkarim
Associate Consultant Medical Oncologist, NCCCR
Dr. Ashraf Awad is a Medical Oncologist. Since 2007, he has been working in the Department of Medical Oncology at the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research in Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar. He was born in Sudan. He graduated from the Donetsk State Medical University in Ukraine in 1996.
Dr. Ashraf had four years’ training in General and Surgical Oncology at the Kyiv Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education.
He worked in the Unit of Breast Tumors in the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv from 2001 to 2006.
In June 2006, Dr. Ashraf obtained a PhD degree in Oncology from the Kavetski Institute for Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology, in the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
His main research interests are: Advanced Breast Cancer, Rare Tumors, Antitumor Vaccines, and Cancer Immunology. He has contributed to over 17 publications, as well as two registered patents as first or last author.
Dr. Ashraf got his ESMO Certificate of Medical Oncology in Madrid in 2014. He served as the ESMO regional representative in the Middle East from 2009 to 2015.
