Professor Francesco Della Corte
Full Professor in Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Critical Emergency Medicine at the Università del Piemonte Orientale, Dipartimento di Medicina Traslazionale in Novara and Director of the Emergency Medicine Department of the Maggiore Hospital School of Medicine
Professor Della Corte is an MD, Hon Fellow EuSEM and holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery (1979). He was the first Associate Professor in Disaster Medicine in Italy and currently is full Professor in Anesthesia, Critical Care and Critical Emergency Medicine at the Università del Piemonte Orientale, Dipartimento di Medicina Traslazionale in Novara. He served as Honorary Secretary to the European Society for Emergency Medicine from 1999 to 2006. He is the co-initiator of the Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Conference (the largest congress in the world of international emergency medicine) and Founder of the European Master in Disaster Medicine. Currently he is actively involved, at the academic level, in training medical professionals in disaster and mass casualty incident management.
He has been involved in different projects funded by the European Union and has authored more than a hundred full papers published in peer-reviewed, impacted journals. He has been invited to speak at more than three hundred national and international congresses.
