Mandy Kilmartin joined Planetree in 2017 as an Associate Director, coaching leaders, care providers, and health care organizations around the world, on their journey to person-centered excellence. In 2022, she advanced to the role of Director of Global Services, where she now plays a key role in advancing Planetree International’s mission of expanding person-centered care around the world. Backed by a growing body of scientific research connecting patient, family, and staff engagement to improved health outcomes, Mandy works with organizations across the U.S. and around the world to promote person-centered care as a model for improving the care experience. Prior to Planetree, Mandy spent her career working in various roles as a strategic resource for healthcare facilities to improve medical and surgical program efficiency, streamline complex perioperative care pathways, and improve patient access and outcomes. Mandy worked as the Regional VP of Sales for an eHealth start-up, the Surgical Account Manager for a medical device company, and the Vaccine Account Manager in the pharmaceutical industry. She later made the transition to consulting where she worked as the Surgical Program Manager for an outpatient surgical facility and served as the Resource Development Director for United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, aligning resources around a vision of sustainable, positive impacts for children, their families, and their communities. She also spent several years as a volunteer EMT and worked as the Bariatric Coordinator for a growing surgical practice. As a dedicated member of her community, Mandy also spent 4 years serving on the Shelton, CT Board of Education, and more than 2 years on the Leadership Committee for the Valley United Way. Mandy’s passion for her work at Planetree stems from the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. She is continually inspired by the transformation of the human experience that is achieved through the implementation of person-centered practices.
