Comprehensive geriatric assessment is a detailed assessment of older adults, which can be performed in any clinical setting, to assess the elderly patients' medical, psychosocial, environmental and functional status. CGA has been shown to reduce overall utilization of healthcare resources, improve functions and quality of life, improve morbidity and mortality, prevent premature institutionalization, enables timely and appropriate planning and monitoring of treatment, rehabilitation and discharge. Dr Amir Abdulla will guide you in an interactive teaching session in how to perform CGA in timely manner in an acute setting.

One of the most common of causes of hospital admission, especially in secondary care, is falls. Falls are regarded as one of the earliest signs of frailty and are one of the highest complications resulting in hospital admission.
