Prof. Dr. Mukesh Harisinghani is a Radiology Professor at Harvard Medical School and Director of Body Translational MRI at Massachusetts General Hospital.  In addition, he serves as Director of the Clinical Discovery Program Center for Molecular Imaging Research at Massachusetts General Hospital.  Dr. Harisinghani has been practicing in abdominal radiology for over 25 years, and his primary area of interest is Clinical and Translational applications of MRI.  He is considered a nationally renowned thought leader in abdominal imaging with over 250 publications in journals of repute, including the New England Journal of Medicine, PLOS, and JCO, as well as being editor of 6 textbooks.

Among his significant accomplishments is his service as Section Editor for GU Radiology at the American Journal of Roentgenology from 2008 to 2020, followed by consulting editor at large since then. Given his clinical and research experience, he has been invited to be part of the Accreditation Committee for the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC) and the Commission on Cancer (COC), which is the body of the American College of Surgeons involved in the accreditation of sites for rectal cancer.

He is also serving as a Special Expert in Imaging for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Clinical Steering Committee (CISC), on the Clinical Advisory Council for the VHL Alliance, and served as the inaugural co-chair of the Anorectal Cancer Disease Focused Panel at the Society of Abdominal Radiology. He was also the SAR Igor Laufer visiting professor in 2015 and is known as an excellent radiologist and educator with a passion for teaching. He has lectured extensively on various abdominal imaging topics at national and international symposia and is a sought-after speaker.
