Prof. Dr. Wei Tse Yang is Professor and the Robert D. Moreton Distinguished Chair in Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Yang earned her MBBS from the National University of Singapore and received board certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the United Kingdom (FRCR, London), Hong Kong (FHKCR), and the United States of America (ABR). She is a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging and a fellow of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Yang graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a MSc in Healthcare Management in May 2020.

She is Medical Director, Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core and works to support clinical trial development and drug discovery. Her special research interests include advanced breast imaging (ultrasound and MRI) for the measurement of tumor response and the imaging characteristics of specific molecular subtypes of breast cancer.

She is part of a multidisciplinary team that pioneered advanced axillary imaging to facilitate “targeted axillary dissection" after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and reduce post-surgical morbidity for women, and she co-leads a protocol that aims to eliminate surgery for exceptional breast cancer responders to neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

More recently, her research interests focus on the role of artificial intelligence for breast cancer risk prediction in different subsets of women, particularly women with a personal history of breast cancer, and on the exploration of AI breast ultrasound algorithms to improve diagnosis of breast masses. She is passionate about supporting academic and professional growth through mentoring, coaching, and sponsorship.

Dr. Yang has authored and co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Roentgenology (AJR) and The Breast Journal. She also co-authored “Diagnostic Imaging: Breast" textbook (2nd Edition).
