Chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine, HMCProf. Thomas finished training in Emergency Medicine. After this time, he completed a one year EMS Fellowship as a Flight Physician in the University of North Carolina system before moving to Harvard to complete a Master’s in Quantitative Methods (biostatistics). He has been involved with starting two EM residency programs, one at Harvard (Massachusetts General Hospital) and the other at the University of Oklahoma, where he was the inaugural Kaiser Foundation Endowed Chair in Emergency Medicine. He’s currently Chairman of the Department of EM at HMC and is Emergency Physician-In-Chief at Hamad General Hospital.
