Dr. Salha Bujassoum has been a Senior Consultant at the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) since 2005. She is the Program Director of Breast Cancer Screening (Standard and High Risk), the Clinical Lead of the Breast Multi-Disciplinary Team and co chair of the Qatar National Breast Tumor Board. She has also been the Fellowship Program Director for Hematology and Oncology since 2011.
She is obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from King Souad University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1992. She received the Specialist Certificate in Internal Medicine/Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Of Canada, Toronto-Canada in 2001 and was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine/Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology, Toronto, Canada in 2004.
Her academic appointments are as follows: In Hamad Medical Corporation, Internship from 1991-1992 then Residency in Internal Medicine from 1992-1995. In University of Toronto, Canada: Residency in Internal Medicine (PGY1- PGY3) from 1996 to 1999 Combined Fellowship in Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology from 2000 to 2002 and Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplant from 2002 to 2003.
She joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2003 as consultant medical oncology and hematology. Currently her main focus is medical oncology and major interest is breast cancer.
