Dr. Al Twegieri completed his M B B ch and internship at University of Cairo, Egypt in 1980.
In 1987 he was qualified by the Hungarian Board of Internal Medicine and in 1989 he entered the internal medicine training program at University of Saskatchewan (Canada) and qualified with his FRCPC (internal medicine) in 1993.
In1992 he was awarded a fellowship and was accepted as a fellow in medical oncology training program at University of Ottawa and qualified with his FRCPC in 1995.
In 1994 he was awarded a fellowship and was accepted as clinical research follow in Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant unit at University of Alberta.
Upon completion of his fellowship training, Dr. Al-Twegieri was appointed an assistant professor in the department of Medical Oncology and as a director of Bone Marrow Transplant unit at University of Saskatchewan, subsequently promoted as associated professor in the Department of Medical Oncology in 1998.
In 2001 he joined King Fahad Specialist Hospital and Research Center as consultant Medical Oncologist. In 2013 he was appointed as Adjunct Research Appointee Breast Cancer Research Unit, Biological and medical Research at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr. AL-Tweigeri is certified by The Royal College of Canada for both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
He is active in both clinical and basic research related to breast cancer.
