The FIFA World Cup 2022 was exciting, and football fans from around the world gathered to witness the spectacular event that put Qatar on the map in the world of sports! To ensure the readiness of healthcare staff from Hamad Medical Corporation, Human Resources and Ambulance Services collaborated to orient staff who were deployed in different stadiums, recreation, and entertainment areas. During the orientation, staff were made aware of their roles and what was expected from them during the duration of the World Cup. In addition, Ambulance Service instructors played a crucial role in teaching over 1000 healthcare providers the use of prehospital equipment necessary when responding to emergency cases.
Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center also deployed a Simulation Operations Specialist, along with equipment, to support training inside various World Cup stadiums, designed to train providers in critical care situations, including prevention of heat stroke and mass casualty management.
