Welcome to the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). Our department plays a pivotal role in maintaining Infection Control standards within Hamad General Hospital. We supply every department within the hospital with sterile materials which can range from soft packs to surgical instruments. All equipment which has been used in the hospital or which is in a non-sterile state, is brought to the department to be cleaned, disinfected, de-contaminated, sterilized, stored and distributed appropriately. As and when is necessary, sterile packs are also provided to departments within the hospital; packs are accompanied by full documentation.
Due to the expertise and capacity within the department, healthcare facilities outside the hospital may outsource our service from us. The CSSD provides sterile instruments and soft packs for all units in Hamad Medical Corporation and all Primary Health Center units.
