Prof. Michael G. Stewart, MD, MPH

Michael G. Stewart is Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and Otolaryngologist-in-Chief at NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital. He also serves as Senior Associate Dean for International Affairs and Affiliates and is Professor of Population Health Sciences.

A leading academic otolaryngologist with a comprehensive clinical practice, Prof. Stewart has particular expertise in rhinology, nose and sinus disease, and head and neck trauma. He is internationally recognized for his work in outcomes research, quality-of-life measurement, and evidence-based practice in otolaryngology.

Prof. Stewart is the author of two textbooks and more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and over 30 book chapters. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of The Laryngoscope and has served in major leadership roles across the specialty, including Past-President of the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Executive Vice President of the American Rhinologic Society. He has also served on the Residency Review Committee of the ACGME and was recently named President-Elect of the American Laryngological Rhinological and Otological Society.

He has received numerous national and international honors, delivered more than 500 invited lectures worldwide, and served as visiting professor at over 40 institutions.

Prof. Stewart’s extensive experience in surgical education and academic leadership makes him a distinguished faculty member and instructor for the Cadaver Dissection Course, where he will contribute his expertise in rhinologic and head and neck surgical techniques.​
