Dr. Noora Shahbeck

Dr. Noora, is acting chair of the medical genetics department in HMC. She is senior Consultant Clinical and metabolic at Qatar Medical Centre in Hamad Medical Corporation. She is a member of rare disease (MDT) and research committee (Doha-Heidelberg), in addition she is a member of the National Qatar Genome screening project.
Dr. Noora received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree in 1995 form Arabian Gulf University, Manama-Bahrain. She is Arab Board, certified general paediatrics in 2001. She complete her fellowship trains in Pediatrics Metabolic Medicine which Certified by the Union Europeans des Medicines' Specialist (UEMS) from Heidelberg, Germany in Dec. 2004. Her educational and research activities as well as her clinical experience are in the field of Human Genetic/clinical Biochemistry.
Dr. Shahbeck is a founder member of Meddle East Metabolic Genetic Group (MEMG) since 2005.
She was trained in multiple prestigious institution specialist in clinical metabolic e.g. Newborn screening in Heidelberg in 2007, in mitochondrial disorders, congenital disorders of Glycolysation in Nijmegen in 2012. Also had several specialist courses in Lysosomal Storage disease.
Dr. Noora has multiple publication in the field of pediatrics and adult Genetic/Metabolic.
She had interest in Homocystinuria and B12 deficiency .and special interest in emergency management of metabolic disorders.
