Dr. Jamal Al-Saleh
Dr. Al-Saleh is the Medical Director of Dubai Hospital, part of the Dubai Academic and Health Corporation. He is a 1995 graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, a 1999 member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, a 2003 recipient of the Clinical Master of Rheumatology from the University of Manchester, a 2009 fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, and a 2012 International Advisor of the RCP (London).
Dr. Al-Saleh was the Head of the Rheumatology Department from 2006 to 2020 and established the first clinics in the United Arab Emirates, including the Early Arthritis Clinic, the Combined Obstetric and Rheumatology Clinic, and the SpA Uveitis Clinic, among others. In December 2018, the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Medical Science recognized his rheumatology department as the finest clinical department in the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Al-Saleh has convened and participated in multiple rheumatology committees to develop or adopt international clinical guidelines for the UAE. In addition, Dr. Al-Saleh served on the Rheumatology Specialty Steering Board for Epic (EMR) International between 2020 and 2022. Dr. Al-Saleh is the author or co-author of several publications and the principal investigator of several clinical and epidemiological studies. Dr. Al-Saleh is the current president of the Emirates Society of Rheumatology 2018-2024 (two consecutive mandates), as well as the former president of the Emirates Osteoporosis Society, the Emirates Society of Rheumatology 2013-2016, and the president of the Arab League Against Rheumatism 2013-2015.
