Dr. Bassel Abou-Khalil is Professor of Neurology, and Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr Abou-Khalil received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He also received additional training in epilepsy at the Montreal Neurological Institute, in Montreal, Canada. He has been a faculty member at Vanderbilt University since 1988 and was the Founding Director of the Vanderbilt Epilepsy Program. He is author or co-author on more than 200 publications.
