Professor Sir Munir Pirmohamed is David Weatherall Chair of Medicine at the University of Liverpool, and a Consultant Physician at the Liverpool University Hospital Foundation NHS Trust. He is Director of the Centre for Drug Safety Sciences, Director of the Wolfson Centre for Personalized Medicine and Director of HDR North. 

He is an inaugural National Institute for Health and Care Research Senior Investigator, Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in the UK, and Chair of the Commission on Human Medicines. He is also a non-executive director of NHS England, President of Association of Physicians GB&I and medical trustee for the British Heart Foundation He is the Past-President of the British Pharmacological Society. He was awarded a Knights Bachelor in the Queen’s Birthday Honors in 2015. His research focuses on personalized medicine, clinical pharmacology, drug safety.
