Currently, she is serving as a Specialist- Division of pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sidra Medicine (Since June 2021). Dr. Shiga is working as a Lead author of Hospital Clinical guidelines: Management of patients with high risk of bone fragility ( Sidra Medicine ) (December 2022): Prepared as part of Hospital based Quality Control Program titled ‘ Fragile Bone’. She has been associated with various research work and poster presentations titled “Well Differentiated Thyroid Cancer: A Tertiary Centre Experience Among an Indian Cohort” at the 40th Annual Meeting of the European Thyroid Association held at Belgrade, Serbia September 2017.
Additionally, she presented a paper titled “Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma in Adults: A Single Institution Experience. A Study of Clinicopathological Characteristics, Risk Categories and Response to Therapy” at the 47th Annual Conference of The Endocrine Society of India held at Trivandrum- Kerala, India Oct 2017. She has been involved in many research publications related to paediatric diabetes and thyroid disorders. Her special areas of interest are- disorders of bone and mineral metabolism, technology developments in type 1 Diabetes, pubertal disorders, and thyroid disorders
