Dr. Saju Divakar serves as a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research, a part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar. Specializing in advanced Radiation oncological treatments, his expertise encompasses Radiosurgery, Brachytherapy, Total Body Irradiation, and Focused Ultrasound Treatment. Lately, he has been delving into the applications of artificial intelligence for adaptive daily radiotherapy.
A key contributor to national cancer healthcare guidelines, Dr. Saju sits on various multidisciplinary tumor boards and is a member of the Qatar National Cancer Guideline Advisory Committees under the Ministry of Public Health. He has co-authored multiple national cancer guidelines and is an active reviewer for medical journals.
In the realm of research, Dr. Saju holds multiple publications to his name and is involved in research activities at HMC, both as a principal and co-investigator.
Prior to his tenure at HMC, which began in 2009, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology at Amrita Hospital in Kochi, Kerala, India from 2005 to 2009.
Dr. Saju completed all his medical education in India, earning his MBBS from Kerala University in 1997. He then practiced primary healthcare in rural India before undergoing postgraduate training in Radiotherapy at the Regional Cancer Center in Kerala from 2001 to 2004. He was awarded a DNB degree in Radiotherapy by the National Board in New Delhi in 2005.
Beyond his medical pursuits, Dr. Saju enjoys a range of creative outlets including cooking, fiction writing, poetry, photography, and digital art. He is married and is the proud father of a daughter.
