Dr. Nick Scott is the Vice Chairman of Anesthesia and ICU at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. He is a former consultant anesthetist at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank, Scotland. Dr. Scott is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Anesthetists. His interest in regional anesthesia and pain management began as an Astra Clinical Fellow in 1986-7 working with Professor Henrik Kehlet in Copenhagen. His research developed within this field, especially central neuraxial blockade, and he has published and lectured on analgesia, accelerated rehabilitation, enhanced recovery and outcomes after different surgical procedures. From 2009 to 2012, he was a member of a Scottish Executive working party on delivering an enhanced recovery package for orthopedic surgery throughout Scotland.
He is the immediate Past- President of RAUK and has many publications in internationally renowned journals.
