Prof. Mike Richmond is Acting Chief for Medical Academic and Research Affairs at Hamad Medical Corporation. Prior to this appointment, he was the Executive Medical Director and Board Member of Sheffield Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust in the UK. Sheffield is the largest and one of the most successful Foundation Trusts in England. He also was appointed an Honorary Professorship at Sheffield Hallam University, the largest provider of healthcare education in the UK, as well as holding an Honorary Senior Lectureship at Sheffield University. Professor Richmond is an experienced clinician, being a UK Teaching Hospital Consultant in Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management for 25 years as well as being appointed as Chairman of Anesthesia for 12 years. He has a track record in education and training being a Royal College of Anesthetists Officer in education as well as a RCA appointed examiner for 10 years. Mike graduated in Medicine from the University of Aberdeen before pursuing his initial medical training in the Royal Air Force.
