Danny has had a varied nursing career in both education in practice. He started his clinical nursing career in operating theatres and anesthetics and then broadened this by working in cardiology and respiratory medicine.
In the past twenty years Danny has worked as a specialist palliative care practitioner and manager within hospice care in the UK and taught nursing and midwifery studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across a group of Scottish universities.
He spent some time working as a clinical teacher supporting students learning at the bedside before moving into higher education in the 1990’s.
Danny came to Qatar in 2012 as Director of Nursing Education before taking the post as AEDON at NMER in 2018.
He is passionate about supporting nurses and midwives to be better teachers in the art and science of education.
