Ms. Heather Perry, Clinical nurse specialist, St Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.
Heather is a Nurse Practitioner from Toronto, Canada and has worked with the trauma population for the past 10 years across the care continuum. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she worked as a ward nurse and was later selected for the Level III Neuro-Intensive Care Unit where she cared for some of the most critically ill patients in her province and help lead the region’s largest critical care resource as a charge nurse. Recognizing that many traumas are opportunities for prevention, Heather would go on to complete her Master of Nursing / Nurse Practitioner degree in Primary Care at the University of British Columbia. She led a multi-disciplinary team that provided comprehensive geriatric assessments to seniors with complex medical, functional and psychosocial challenges and delivered onsite medical care at mass-gathering events in her community. Today, Heather combines her acute care and primary care experiences to care for both inpatients and outpatients as a Trauma Nurse Practitioner at St. Michael’s Hospital Level 1 Trauma Centre
