Rohan D’Souza MD, PhD, FRCOG, FCPS, MSc, DNB, DGO, DFP

Dr. Rohan is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician with a clinical focus on medical disorders in pregnancy. He is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University, Canada.

Dr. D’Souza leads the Family-Oriented and service User centred Research Supporting pregnancy Health (FLOURISH) group at McMaster University and is the principal investigator on several collaborative initiatives:

  • The Canadian Obstetric Survey System (CanOSS):A nationwide effort to reduce severe adverse pregnancy outcomes.
  • The Canadian Network of Networks to Reduce Cardiovascular Mortality and Morbidity in Pregnancy (CaNCaM-Preg):A multidisciplinary collaboration aiming to improve cardiovascular health during and after pregnancy.
  • Outcome Reporting in Obstetric Studies (OROS):A global initiative focussed on harmonizing outcome reporting and prioritizing patient-important outcomes in clinical decision-making.
  • The Confidence Project: Enhancing vaccine confidence among pregnant and postpartum individuals.
  • Improving Peripartum Outcomes Project (ImPrOP):Improving outcomes following labour induction, reducing operative delivery-related morbidity, and preventing severe postpartum haemorrhage.
  • Studying the Effect of Environmental influences on Pregnancy Health (SEEP): Determining associations between extreme temperature, agrochemicals and e-waste on pregnancy health.

Dr. D’Souza holds a Tier-2 Canada Research Chair in Maternal Health.​
