Dr. Bernard Le Guen

Bernard Le Guen is a medical doctor (MD), specializing in medical biology, radiotherapy and in occupational medicine. He has a doctoral diploma in molecular biology. 

Since May 2012 he is the Executive Officer of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) (non-profit international organisation recognized since 1966 as the international voice of the radiation protection profession (20 000 members in 55 counties) in the enhancement of radiation protection culture and practice worldwide) He is the IRPA Liaison Officer to  International Commission of Radiation Protection (ICRP) Committee 4 and to the Committee on Radiation Protection and Public Health (CRPPH) (Nuclear Energy Agency – OECD).

Since July 2014 he is a board member of the Doctoral School for Cancer Research  (CBMS)  at the Gustave Roussy Institute (Villejuif) - Paris Sud University and president of the board of directors of the Research Centre on Radiological Protection Evaluation (CEPN) (non-profit organisation created in 1976).

Since 1999, he has worked at Electricité de France (EDF), he is currently the Radiation Protection and Industrial Safety Vice-President, at EDF Nuclear Power Plant Operation. (EDF is a French electric utility company, the world's largest producer of electricity)
Since Mai 2015, Bernard le Guen is the President elected of the French Radiation Protection Society (SFRP) and is in charge of RP lectures at the Medical University of Paris and in different RP masters degrees
