First Patient and Family Education Grand Round:
As a great beginning to the new year of 2018, the first Patient and Family Education Grand Round was held in Hajar Auditorium last January 11, 2018 expecting 300 participants from different fields of nursing and medical profession across HMC. Participants arrived and head count increased intensely to 425 people. The event provided a total of 3 CPD points accredited by QCHP to all the colleagues who participated making this event beyond successful.
Patient and Family Education Survey
The PFE unit at Hamad General Hospital developed and launched a survey that aimed to assess the patient and family education services across the organization (HMC) from 28 October 2018 to 29 November 2018. The survey was for all health care providers including nurses, physicians, and allied health to assess their knowledge, use of service, and barriers. The feedback of this survey is being analyzed and the results will be used to prepare a plan going forward to guide any positive changes that may be required in Patient and Family Education services. These findings will be disseminated to all HMC employees in the upcoming Patient Family Education symposium in 2019.
