Corporate Nursing & Midwifery Quality and Patient Safety (CNM QPS) is a portfolio within HMC Corporate Nursing & Midwifery Department, led by Mr. Thabit Melhem, EDON with a mission to support and take oversight on the business related to nursing quality & nursing practice.
CNM QPS is committed to ensure that appropriate structures and processes are in place to promote the delivery of safe and effective patient care by leading system-wide approaches that support evidenced-based and best practices, culture of safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation and policies that support improved clinical outcomes within a collaborative work environment.
The team is actively engaged in the design, implementation and evaluation of nursing quality indicators and train on how to use them to identify areas of concern which need further investigation and monitor progress over time.
Great emphasis within Nursing & Midwifery is given to monitor and oversee the delivery of nursing performance improvement initiatives through promoting multi-disciplinary collaborations, leading performance improvement projects, promote & support innovation, review proposals and provide guidance on issues that have an impact on nursing practice.
Corporate Nursing & Midwifery team focusses on a vision of patient-centered care across HMC by optimizing safe care transitions for patients through an interdisciplinary approach to deliver safe, effective and harm-free care for Qatar population.
