Ms. Alyson Bryant, United Kingdom Accreditation Service

Ms. Alyson Bryant is a Healthcare Accreditation Specialist at the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Prior to joining UKAS, Ms. Bryant was a Biomedical Scientist, and subsequently laboratory manager in Cellular Pathology (Anatomical Pathology) in the UK for 15 years, focussed on quality assurance, technical competence and the effectiveness of quality management systems.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Bryant was involved in the accreditation of new COVID-19 testing and sampling services across the UK, ensuring legal compliance for service delivery and accreditation.

In her current role, she leads on technical competence and stakeholder engagement across the Healthcare sector, including physiological science services, imaging services and medical laboratory services. Ms. Bryant is currently supporting medical laboratories in their transition from ISO 15189:2012 to ISO 15189:2022 and led on the technical preparation for this project within UKAS.

Ms. Bryant represents UKAS and the UK on national and international accreditation and standardisation committees, including ISO TC 212, the committee with ownership of the ISO 15189 and ISO 22367 standards.
