Prior to medicine, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Computing and worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a consultant in the Global Risk Management Systems (Information Technology) for two years. He returned to study completing a Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) and Bachelor of Medicine at the Australian National University.
