
Nemanja Damjanov, MD, PhD
Nemanja Damjanov completed his undergraduate and post-graduate education including earning a master’s degree in immunology and a doctorate degree in rheumatology, from the University of Belgrade, School of Medicine. Professor Damjanov practices internal medicine and specializes in rheumatology. He serves as Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Belgrade, School of Medicine; and Director of the Institute of Rheumatology in Belgrade, Serbia.
Professor Damjanov has served as secretary general of the European League Against Rheumatism, EULAR for two terms (2011 - 2015); in addition to serving as president of the Rheumatology Association of Yugoslavia (2004 -2007), and also served as president of the Rheumatology Association of Serbia (2008 – 2015). He is an honorary member of EULAR since 2015. Professor Damjanov is chair-elect of EULAR - Standing Committee on Education and Training, (ESCET).
Professor Damjanov’s research interests include rheumatoid arthritis, sonography in rheumatology, capillaroscopy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and scleroderma. He has published over 430 papers in the relevant literature. For many years Professor Damjanov has organized international scientific meetings and educational courses, and has been an invited speaker at numerous meetings in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Professor Damjanov is the editor in chief of “Acta Rheumatologica Belgradensia,” and previously served as the associate editor of Rheumatology, (Oxford)
Professor Damjonav continues to serve as an editorial board member of “Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases - Rheumatology,” (Oxford) and several other journals.
