
Prof. Dr. Med. Jazan Omari studied Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf from 2009 to 2015. He passed the final medical examination with distinction (grade 1.0) and received his medical license in December 2015.
In 2017, he obtained his doctoral degree (magna cum laude) from the Institute of Experimental Pathology at the University of Hamburg with a dissertation on the progression of prostate cancer and chromosomal deletions. He completed his habilitation in Radiology in June 2020 at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, focusing on image-guided interstitial brachytherapy as part of multimodal therapy for metastatic cancers.
Throughout his career, he has held several positions at the University Hospital for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in Magdeburg—from Assistant Physician and Senior Consultant to Deputy Director.
In 2022, he was appointed as W2 Professor of Interventional Radiology with a focus on multimodal interventions. He was awarded the Young Investigator Prize for Clinical Research by the Faculty of Medicine in Magdeburg the same year. Since January 2024, he has been serving as Head of the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Klinikum Frankfurt (Oder).
His professional passion lies in advancing interventional oncology and translational radiology.
