Anees K. Nile, FACS, FIBMS, MBChB
Dr. Anees Nile is a Consultant, General Surgeon and the current Dean of College of Medicine at Al Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq since 2019. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialization. He completed his surgical training in General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery in Baghdad in 2005. After completion of his training, he joined College of Medicine as a senior in the Department of Surgery.
In 2015, he was awarded the title of Consultant in General surgery and in 2017, the title of professor in General Surgery.
Dr. Nile was involved in a number of administrative duties which included Board Member of Al Kadhymia Teaching Hospital from 2006 – 2012, Chairman of ATLS Iraqi Chapter 2017, Board member of Iraqi Fellowship program in Bariatric surgery 2018. He is supervisor and examiner of both Iraqi and Arab Board students in General surgery from 2010 - 2020, a member of ALSGBI, EAES, SAGES and IFSO. He is also the Head of the Dean’s committee of the Iraqi Medical Colleges.
