Rifat Latifi, MD, FACS, FICS, FKCS

Dr. Rifat Latifi is a Professor and Chairman of Surgery at New York Medical College (NYMC), School of Medicine, and Director of the Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center Health Network. 

Dr. Latifi’s special clinical interests are in complex re-operative surgery, geriatric surgery, telemedicine, trauma and nutrition support for critically ill patients. He is the author or co-author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, has written or edited 19 books, and serves on the editorial boards of a number of peer-reviewed journals. He is the founding president and Fellow of Kosova College of Surgeons and the Editor-in-Chief of Kosova Journal of Surgery. In addition, he is an associate editor of the Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery and section editor of Hernia Journal.
