Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement - The World’s First Planetree Professional Department

HMC’s Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE) has started its journey to become the world's first Planetree Professional Department. This achievement has required CPESE team members to successfully complete the Planetree Fellowship Program, earning minimum credit points established by Planetree. The program aims to recognize healthcare professionals and students who have expanded their knowledge of person-centered care approaches and applied this knowledge effectively in practice.

In 2019, a total of 20 staff members from CPESE were awarded with Planetree’s Fellow in Person-Centered Care during the inaugural Patient Experience Forum in Doha, Qatar, marking them as global pioneers in this recognition. CPESE was also distinguished as the world’s first ‘Planetree Professional Department’ and presented with the ‘Early Adopters of the Planetree Fellow in Person-Centered Care Program’ designation at the Planetree PCC Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Becoming a Fellow signifies not only a commitment to person-centered care principles but also a demonstrated track record of implementing these principles in healthcare settings. The Fellow in Person-Centered Care Program emphasizes expanding knowledge of person-centered approaches and applying this understanding to enhance healthcare delivery. HMC values its association with the Fellow in Person-Centered Care credential, reflecting its dedication to prioritizing person-centered care.
