A Message from HMC's Chief of Patient Experience
Our journey at Hamad Medical Corporation towards becoming a person-centered organization began with a vision to redefine healthcare in Qatar—providing the best healthcare experience by ensuring patients receive timely care that meets their needs and preferences. We’re committed to setting a new standard in healthcare delivery, emphasizing responsiveness, comprehensive information, active decision-making participation, and compassionate care throughout every patient’s journey.
In March 2018, we took a significant step forward by partnering with Planetree International, a globally recognized leader in person-centered care. This partnership introduced the PCC Certification framework and enhanced our ability to embed person-centered principles across HMC. The Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement has since worked diligently to boost staff and patient engagement throughout our network.
I take immense pride in the dedication and achievements demonstrated by Enaya and Daam Specialized Care Center, Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Services, Private Nursing Services, and Communicable Disease Center in obtaining the Certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care (PCC). Each facility has shown unwavering commitment to enhancing patient care through compassion, innovation, and continuous improvement. Their accomplishments, including certifications and ongoing PCC initiatives has set a benchmark for other HMC hospitals and beyond.
The journey towards excellence in PCC continues with Women’s Wellness and Research Center, Heart Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, and Hamad General Hospital’s Emergency Department embarking on their path to achieve the Certification for Excellence in PCC. They uphold high standards of person-centered care, nurturing a culture of empathy, respect, and patient empowerment across our healthcare system.
As we transform HMC into a person-centered organization, our goal is to set new benchmarks in healthcare delivery through best practices rooted in PCC principles. These efforts highlight our commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care that prioritizes every patient’s needs and preferences. I fully support these HMC facilities in their ongoing endeavors to advance healthcare through person-centered practices, reflecting our shared values of excellence and compassion at HMC.
