Dr. Zolezzi is Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacy and Practice and Director of the Doctor in Pharmacy Program at the College of Pharmacy, Qatar University. She received her Bachelor in Pharmacy in 1985, and a Master of Science degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada in 1988. In 1989, she completed a Canadian-accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency at the Calgary General Hospital. Following several years in clinical pharmacy practice, Dr. Zolezzi received her Advanced Prescribing Authorization from the Alberta College of Pharmacists in Canada, and in 2013, obtained her PhD degree from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Dr. Zolezzi has participated in several research projects and has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications, presentations and research posters. Her research focuses on rational use of medicines in people with mental illness and in the geriatric population, implementation of pharmacist-led programs for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease and using technology for the advancement of pharmacy practice and education.
