Dr Mugtaba Osman is a hybrid psychiatrist in general adult and addiction psychiatry and accredited statistician, who is currently Consultant Psychiatrist as well as Senior Clinical Lecturer & and Graduate Statistician for the Department of Psychiatry, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

He graduated in Sudan and trained in Ireland for basic specialist and higher training with the College of Psychiatrist in Ireland. Experience in community and hospital-based psychiatry and addiction psychiatry in Ireland, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Research interests include modelling mental health data and as well as substance use and mental health comorbidities.

A recent research paper is titled "The prevalence of coronaphobia among nursing staff in Saudi Arabia"
