Dr. Wadoo is the chair of the Middle East Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He plays a key role in delivering its international strategy and overseeing its activities in the Middle East and North Africa. He was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and the fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists as a mark of distinction and recognition of contributions to medicine, psychiatry, and medical education.
He is a clinical associate professor at the College of Medicine - Qatar University (CMED-QU). He has a key role in medical education and research. He is involved in the psychiatry residency program and led the establishment of various sub-specialty psychiatry fellowship programs in Qatar, the highest in the Middle East region, in his role as the director of the psychiatry fellowship program. He has led and contributed to the establishment of a psychiatry clerkship program in CMED-QU in his role as an associate clerkship director.
Dr. Wadoo is a senior consultant in community mental health services who has played a key role in the transition to community-based care and in promoting the education and training of primary care physicians. He led the award-winning program of training primary care physicians in 2018. He has been instrumental in the standardization of clinical practice through his leadership of the clinical guidelines and audit group and has been involved in producing national guidelines for mental disorders in the state of Qatar. His research has a clinical focus aimed at improving the care of people with mental disorders. He has an established record of research work published in international journals in addition to presentations at regional and international conferences.
