Dr. Carl Rikard Moen

Dr. Carl Rikard Moen is the Occupational Health Manager at an international oil company, having 19 years of experience as a proficient corporate healthcare manager with extensive knowledge in both corporate and occupational health, specializing in occupational medicine. He is also the Middle East Regional Specialty Adviser for the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College Physicians London and the Middle East Representative FOMI for the Royal College Physicians Ireland.
Dr. Rikard’s profession began as a surgeon. He was then seconded as the Chief Medical Officer and personal physician to a prominent member of a Middle East Royal Family. Eager to pursue a career in occupational medicine, his continued studies gained him the Royal College of Physicians MFOM award. Dr. Rikard then completed a MSc in Occupational Health and worked with BUPA for five years as an Occupational Physician and Regional Health Manager. His leadership skills were highly acclaimed when he joined ExxonMobil UK in 2004, where he became Occupational Health Manager. He provided support to both the EAME region and the Global Public Health Team. Ready to venture further afield, Dr. Rikard moved to ExxonMobil’s Dubai office as the Regional OH Manager, where his work focused on projects in Iraq. Dr. Rikard joined RMSI in October 2011 as the Medical Director. From April 2014 he additionally supported International SOS as Medical Director Occupational Health EEMEA. He was awarded FFOM in 2012. In September 2014 he became the Occupational Health Manager for Qatar Petroleum and in December 2015 moved to an another major international oil company in the same role.
Dr. Rikard is a member of the International Occupational Medicine Societies Collaborative (IOMSC ) Committee, the OGP IPIECA Health Committee and ICOH. In 2015 he established the Qatar Occupational Medicine Group, currently with 130 members; he is the Chairman of this group.
